Korean's Style

In recent years, fashion in South Korea has greatly evolved, due to inspiration from the West. Factors that have influenced the changes in South Korean fashion are culture, wealth, and (social) media. The country's developing economy has also had a profound effect on fashion.

Currently, South Korea maintains a unique fashion style that has become an acknowledged influence in worldwide trends.^[1] South Korea's style has become more expressive, reflecting a sense of individuality, which is absent from the style of its northern counterpart, North Korea.^[2]

In addition, the Korean Wave (the spread of appreciation for South Korean culture) is beginning to affect the fashion world. Korean celebrities are starting to have a real influence in fashion. For example, pop stars from Korea have recently been making appearances in places like New York. It is projected by the author, Euny Hong, that this fashion phenomenon will soon be worldwide.^[3]

Trousers (British English) or pants (American English) are an item of clothing worn from the waist to the ankles, covering both legs separately (rather than with cloth extending across both legs as in robes, skirts, and dresses).

In the UK, the word pants generally means underwear and not trousers.^[1] Shorts are similar to trousers, but with legs that come down only to around the area of the knee, higher or lower depending on the style of the garment. To distinguish them from shorts, trousers may be called "long trousers" in certain contexts such as school uniform, where tailored shorts may be called "short trousers", especially in the UK.

The oldest known trousers are found at the Yanghai cemetery in Turpan, Xinjiang, western China, dated to the period between the 13th and the 10th centuries BC. Made of wool, the trousers had straight legs and wide crotches, and were likely made for horseback riding.^[2][3]

In most of Europe, trousers have been worn since ancient times and throughout the Medieval period, becoming the most common form of lower-body clothing for adult males in the modern world, although shorts are also widely worn, and kilts and other garments may be worn in various regions and cultures. Breeches were worn instead of trousers in early modern Europe by some men in higher classes of society. Since the mid-20th century, trousers have increasingly been worn by women as well.

Jeans, made of denim, are a form of trousers for casual wear, now widely worn all over the world by both sexes. Shorts are often preferred in hot weather or for some sports and also often by children and adolescents. Trousers are worn on the hips or waist and may be held up by their own fastenings, a belt or suspenders (braces)

Leather jacket

A leather jacket is a type of clothing, a jacket made of leather. The jacket has usually a brown, dark grey or black color. Leather jackets can be styled in variety ways and different versions have been associated with different subcultures in places and times. For instance, the leather jacket have often been associated with bikers, military aviators, punks, andpolice, which have worn versions designed for protective purposes and often for their potentially intimidating appearance.

 In the 20th century the leather jacket achieved iconic status. Marlon Brando's Johnny Strabler character in The Wild One(1953), James Dean as Jim Stark in 1955's Rebel Without A Cause as well as Michael Pare in the Eddie And The Cruisersfilm duo made leather jackets popular in United States and British youth from the "greaser" subculture in the 1950s and early 1960s. A later depiction of this style of jacket and time was "The Fonz" in the television series "Happy Days" which was produced in the 1970s but depicted life in the 1950s. The Fonz's leather jacket is now housed in the Smithsonian Institution, and the Grease movie duo has also since popularized leather jackets with their T-Birds male clique.

 The leather jackets worn by aviators and members of the military were brown in color and frequently called "Bomber jackets" as seen on numerous stars in the 1940s and 1950s such as Jimmy Stewart in the 1957 film, Night Passage. While the black leather jacket fad ended in the early 1960s, bomber jackets, often with sheepskin collars, have remained popular to this day. They can be seen in the 1986 film, Top Gun.
